Can`t believe the school summer holidays are almost over. We seem to have had lots of families staying this summer and already are getting some repeat bookings for next year, so they must have enjoyed themselves. Asking where they have visited, the Safari Park seems to have been one of the most popular. A family last week went Quad Biking at Peachley - the morning it poured with rain but they said it only added to the enjoyment. The hot tub also proved to be very popular, so did the fishing pools as there seemed to be a lot of Grandads teaching fishing skills to their grandchildren.
Next weekend we have got another 18 people arriving from Finland. I expect they are going to have an action packed week, a coach trip planned for every day - have got a long shopping list of supplies to get them for their arrival.
Our local Friendship Club had their last summer garden meeting here with lunch and high tea. They were so busy competing in their own Olympic games, they didn`t have time to have their usual wander through the grounds and sit by the pool.
We have got a couple of fund raising events coming up in October and November, a Curry and Quiz night in aid of the local scouting movement and an evening supper for the Bowls club.
